Book talks: Join the Afternoon Book Discussion Group tomorrow at 2:30 p.m. when they will discuss ''Midnight Champagne.'' Copies of the book are available at the Avon Branch Library. New members are welcome.

Adults are invited to join the Evening Book Discussion Group when it meets March 2 at 7 p.m. at the library. The group will discuss ''Rocket Boys'' by Homer Hickam. For information, call 934-4743.

For Alzheimer's caregivers: The Alzheimer's Association will host a speaker's series for caregivers of patients with Alzheimer's on March 2 at 7 p.m. at Countryside Plaza, 37500 Harvest Drive. Dr. Matthew Wayne, geriatrician at Renaissance Health Center, will present ''Overview of Dementia and Available Treatments.'' This series is open to caregivers who care for someone with memory loss and who are interested in attending a monthly support group meeting at the Alzheimer's Association's Avon office. Learn what kind of kayak and equipment you need to meet your needs ia program by the Backpacker's Shop Saturday [2-26-05] from 10 a.m. to noon.

Preschoolers and an adult companion can learabout Native Americans through games, a story, and the like oWednesday from 10 to 11 a.m.

On Sunday from 1 to 2 p.m., test your wildlife identificatioskills and learn more about local wildlife species.

Preregister by March 1 if you want to take a four-sessiowatercolor landscape sampler class to be held March 3, 10, 17 and 24 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Cost is $25 at the door.

Make a spring centerpiece on Saturday, March 5, from 1 to 2 p.m. Register and pay $20 by March 1.
