A Public Hearings will be held before the regular Meeting of the Avon Planning Commission on Wednesday, March 16, 2005 beginning at 7:00 P.M. in Avon City Hall Council Chambers, 36080 Chester Road, Avon Ohio on the following:


Avon Planning Commission regular meeting agenda 3-16-05:

Mark Yager, representing Dr. Tom Kelly and Mike Petrillo, is requesting approval of the site and architectural plans for the proposed office building and addition to the Williams House located at 37800 Detroit Road.

Family night: Bring the whole family to the Avon Library, 37485 Harvest Drive, for Family Night on Thursday at 7 p.m. Family Night features seasonal stories and a craft. Register by calling the library at 934-4743.

Booster benefit: The Avon Athletic Boosters is sponsoring ''A Night at the Races'' Saturday at Tom's Country Place, beginning at 6 p.m. A buffet dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m., with beer and wash provided. The races start at 8 p.m. For prices and to register, call Sandy Krystowski at 934-6760 or Sue Baker at 937-9554.

Shopping spring fling: The Avon/Avon Lake Community Resource Services along with Kaufmann's at Great Northern Mall will be hosting the Kaufmann's Spring Fling on Tuesday, May 3, from 6 to 10 p.m. Advance tickets are necessary and can be purchased for $10 by calling 933-5639, or sending a check made payable to CRS, 33501 Lake Road, Avon Lake. Come out for an evening of shopping, entertainment, refreshments and a 25 percent discount certificate to be used at the benefit. Proceeds from ticket sales will be used to support local non-profit agencies.

At the French Creek Nature Center:

Boaters class: An Ohio Mandatory Boater Education Course will be held Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Cost is $25 at the door. Reservations are due by Wednesday.

Music night: On Sunday, from 7 to 8:30 p.m., amateurs and professionals can sing or play music in a cafe atmosphere provided by Cravings Cafe.

Learn and sing-a-long in a ''Roots of American Music'' program on Sunday from 1 to 2 p.m.

Celebrate the coming of spring with a moderate paced hike on Sunday from 2 to 3:30 p.m.

Silk scarves: Call by Wednesday if you are interested in making watercolor-like silk scarves on March 22 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Cost is $25 at the door, all materials included.
