Summer reading fun

Children who are registered in Avon Library's Summer Reading Program are invited to attend the ''Out of this World'' program during the week of June 12. Programs are Monday at 7 p.m.; Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. or 1 p.m.; or Thursday at 1 p.m. The free program will feature stories, crafts and games about the solar system.

Priest celebrates anniversary

The Rev. C. Thomas Cleaton, pastor of St. Mary of Immaculate Conception Church, will celebrate his 25th anniversary of ordination on Sunday, June 18 at Mass at noon. The Most Rev. Bishop A. James Quinn of the Cleveland Catholic Diocese will attend. Cleaton served most recently at St. Raphael Church in Bay Village. A reception will follow at Tom's Country Place on Stoney Ridge Road.

Garage sale to benefit library

The Friends of the Avon Library will sponsor its annual garage sale Saturday, June 17 during library hours. There will be a large variety of items for the home, as well as collectibles. The library is located at 37485 Harvest Drive.

Preserve your memories

Registration for a program entitled ''Creative Memories Made Easy!'' are being accepted at the EMH Center for Health and Wellness. Learn the art of preserving your memories using techniques explained by Mary Schmitz, occupational therapist, Thursday, June 22 from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. For information and registration, call 326-5401, or stop in at 1997 Healthway Drive, Avon.

Bloodmobile will be at Avon Oaks Nursing Home

The American Red Cross Bloodmobile will be at Avon Oaks Nursing Home, 37800 French Creek Road from 8 to 11 a.m. Wednesday [6-14-00]. To schedule an appointment to donate, call Celine Rowley at Avon Oaks at (440) 934-5204. Eat breakfast before donating.
