``Bramhalls honored work at Difference Makers gala
AVON -- Avon residents Michael and Lisa Bramhall were honored last month during the third annual Difference Makers Gala and Excellence in Leadership awards ceremony sponsored by Leadership Lorain County. More than 400 attended the gala hosted by WKYC Channel 3 Sports Anchor and Avon Lake resident Ron Jantz.
The couple have chosen very different career paths yet strive to reach the same goal -- to make Lorain County a better place to live.
As president of Bramhall Engineering and Surveying Co., Michael works every day to improve the physical infrastructure of our great county. Through serving various communities, including Avon, Avon Lake, Lorain and Amherst, Michael and his engineering team and staff have enhanced many residential, commercial and industrial developments.
Bramhall Engineering has worked on such projects as Spitzer Marina, Colorado Industrial Park, the city of Avon Lake Water Transmission Line and the SR expansion and their hard work has earned Bramhall Engineering and Surveying Co. a Golden 30 Award presented by Lorain County Community College.
Personally, Mike has stayed true to his profession by maintaining his status as a professional engineer and surveyor for the State of Ohio and also through maintaining his affiliation with the American Society of Engineers, the National Society of Engineers and the Professional Land Surveyors of Ohio.
While Mike has worked to improve physical elements of the county, Lisa Bramhall has chosen to help and protect the well being of the human race. Her career began in Las Vegas, where she worked for the Center for Domestic Violence helping women and children.
Upon returning to Lorain County, her desire to help others brought her to the Ireland Cancer Center where she served as the special events coordinator. Her career choices have taken her out of the traditional work environment, but she currently holds her most important and influential position to date, "Director of Child Research and Development for the Bramhall Household."
Lisa's passions remain with the women and children of this community as she has chosen to align herself with such organizations as the Genesis House, Blessing House, Avon Preschool Parents Club and Lake Ridge Academy. Her philanthropic nature was instrumental in helping the Genesis House thrive as she has served as a board member for nine years along with overseeing the design of the first Festival of Trees fund-raiser. Lisa was instrumental in the founding of the Blessing House, a new organization that serves children in need in Lorain County, where she currently serves as a board member.
Michael's philanthropic spirit mirrors his wife's; however, his interests have helped him to choose a different path of service. He has served as a board member for the Lorain County Community College Foundation, the North Coast Chamber of Commerce and the Community Health Partners Foundation. Michael has also been a committee member for the CHP Eagle Run golf outing and served as past president for the North Coast Chamber of Commerce ...''
