Ancestors of Dewitt C. Moon

This description is based on information compiled by the Avon Historical Society and the Lorain County Regional Planning Commission.

This beautiful brick farmhouse at 39016 Detroit Road, northwest corner of Moon Road and Detroit Road, is owned by Joe and Donna Quisenberry. It features large windows capped by stone lintels and a central doorway with side and top windows. The foundation is sandstone. Joe and Donna also have the Western Reserve Lanpworks and may be contacted at 440-934-5056.

This home was built in 1847 by Ezra Jackson, brother-in-law of Dewitt Clinton Moon who was the son of Colonel Abraham Moon. Abraham Moon came to Avon about 1817, settling on 300 acres of land.
